Centipede Recharged Atari
Centipede: Recharged modernizes the Atari classic, and gives the game a neon aesthetic with the same gameplay that you’ve grown to love. Players simply have to shoot the centipedes as they descend the and carefully avoid the mushrooms they leave behind. What sets this game apart from the original are new power-ups dropped by the spiders, like explosive bullets, spread shots, and even a railgun.

There are two modes: the classic Arcade mode and a new simultaneous couch co-op feature. Experience over two dozen challenges that showcase the new power-ups, while additional exclusive challenges are available in the Atari VCS release. Best of all, there are now global leaderboards and 15 achievements, complete with a Platinum trophy on PlayStation 4 / 5. It’s set to be released September 29th on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam and Epic Games Store for Windows PC, and the Atari VCS, priced at $9.99 USD.

We’re so excited to bring these classic, genre-defining games to modern consoles. Our goal is to create faithful adaptations that ooze with nostalgia and style, and we’re looking forward to providing that to the old school fans that loved Centipede as kids, and a new generation of players who appreciate high-quality arcade action and 80’s aesthetic,” said Wade Rosen, CEO, Atari.
