Now that you’ve seen the DOOM voxel mod, it’s time to check out Cheello’s Voxel Duke Nukem. Put simply, this mod replaces the original game’s sprites with 3D voxels, giving it a more modern look and feel, all the while eliminating rotating 2D sprites during gameplay.
All of the 3D voxels that you see here retain the original art style of the 2D sprites, giving fans of the classic something to cheer for. 3D Realms’ first-person shooter was first released in 1996 for MS-DOS. Since the levels were designed to be non-linear, players can use air ducts, back doors, and sewers to avoid enemies or find hidden caches. There’s no word yet on when Voxel Duke Nukem will be released.

I can’t wait to play this in VR with voxel. No idea if you can make it happen eventually but that’d be something amazing,” said one fan.
