China’s self-developed C919 large passenger aircraft has successfully completed its first commercial flight, operated by China Eastern Airlines. MU191 took off at 10:32am local time from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport with a total of 128 passengers on board and it arrived in Beijing at 12:31 pm, marking its official entry into the civil aviation market.
The Comac C919 is comparable to the Airbus A320 and powered by two CFM International LEAP-1C Turbofan engines. Step into the flight deck, and you’ll find a side control joystick for controlling the fly-by-wire system, two 15.4-inch main displays in front of each pilot, and a 12.5-inch side screen under the window.
