According to Guinness World Records, this Himalayan-Persian cross-breed has fur that reaches 22.87cm (9in) and needs it brushed 2-3 times a week, taking both of its owners, Anne and Eric, to complete the job. The couple say that they never use products on Colonel Meow’s fur, applying only water and brushes if he gets dirty.

Colonel Meow’s fur measurements were taken by three independent vets, recording an average length based on 10 hairs. The evidence was then sent through to Guinness World Records to verify the new record.
