Gamer Builds a Custom Coffee Table with a Hidden 4-Player Arcade Machine

There’s Arcade1Up’s Fast & Furious arcade cabinet, and then Ed’s custom coffee tablet with a hidden 4-player arcade machine. This idea came about after wanting a full-sized arcade machine for the longest time, but never having the space for one in his home.

Handcrafting the wooden coffee table might have been the most difficult part of the build, as choosing the hardware came naturally to Ed. It features a display sourced from an LG TV, a controller unit with a Raspberry Pi 400 board, and standard joystick / arcade buttons found online. What sets this coffee table arcade machine apart from the cocktail machines from the early 1980s is that this one has a removable controller unit. Power wise, you can either use the 19V corded supply or pop in two cordless power tool batteries for wire-free gameplay.
