Dafotil Amphibious Remote Control Tesla Cybertruck
Official remote-control Cybertrucks have shown up for years, most of them licensed, most of them expensive, and almost none of them built to float. Dafotil KT912A, priced at $30.59 (was $36), skipped the licensing fee and the premium price, then gave the angular stainless look a pair of fat tires and a sealed body that actually works in water.

Dafotil’s KT912A is 1:18 scale, approximately 8 inches long, and weighs little less than a pound. The body is made of metal panels and PVC, and it’s just sharp enough to make you say “Cybertruck” as soon as you see it from across the yard. You can also choose between a silver or light gold finish. Some kits include multiple plates, allowing you to change up the look if you become bored. Those huge knobby tires have some give inside, so the truck rides high enough to stay on the surface rather than sinking in. Four wheel drive and dual motors let it to easily navigate grass, gravel, sand, and shallow water, and the 360-degree spin generally makes the kids to quit fighting about whose turn it is.

The box includes two 3.7v 1200mAh batteries, each of which will provide approximately an hour of mixed driving. You may swap them around to extend playing much beyond 100 minutes before anyone has to wait. However, recharging them via USB takes several hours. The 2.4GHz remote requires AA batteries and claims to have a range of around 100 feet on land. Less so when the vehicle is submerged, but you can run many at the same time without any of them competing for signal. You get front LEDs and a one-click demo mode to give it some extra power after the sun goes down. Yes, included a little screwdriver in the box is a great touch, as the battery compartment is secured with screws rather than a flimsy clip. That’s the main difference between a toy that lasts an entire summer and one that simply dies the moment water enters.

Parents who have tossed them around in puddles and kiddie pools report that the waterproofing is effective if the battery cover is correctly tightened and the body is thoroughly rinsed after salt or sand exposure. Some later reviews report the motor failing after weeks of hard crashes, or water seeping in when they simply ignored the seal. That’s about average at the pricing point. The top speed is relatively low, hovering about 10-12 mph, just enough to feel lively in the garden without being a missile.
