CryZENx’s Ocarina of Time remaster truly showcases the power of Unreal Engine 5.2, while this Dark Souls III remake using the same game engine shows us how subtle graphical improvements can make a big difference in gameplay. Jonx0r teased the combat mechanics of his version using the Tempest Combat Framework plugin from the Unreal Marketplace.
Dark Souls III was originally released back in 2016, so we can’t really say that an Unreal Engine 5 remake turns the game into something unrecognizable, but it does show that subtle lighting and reflection effects do make a difference. This action role-playing game played in a third-person perspective is still largely the same, with players encountering different enemies throughout the story and some of them change their combat patterns during battles.
