This tuned DeLorean DMC-12 may look normal at first, but take a look under the hood, and you’ll find a supercharged LS4 V8 engine. This GM-sourced powerplant making 522 horsepower to the wheels is mated to a 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera transmission.
This swap wasn’t a drop and drive ordeal, as lots of custom welding, shortening of components and reshaping random parts was required to fit the supercharged V8 into the DMC-12’s rear engine compartment. Once the engine was squared away, it spent some time at a dyno tuning shop where its ECU was tuned to maximize air / fuel mixtures and spark plug timing. Is this the world’s fastest DeLorean? Probably not, but with a few more modifications we wouldn’t be surprised to see it take on a few supercars at the drag strip.
