DJI FlyCart 100 Drone Reveal
DJI’s FlyCart 100 (FC100) has landed in China, and it’s a beast that’s rewriting the rules of heavy-duty drone logistics. Built to haul massive loads through brutal conditions, this drone is a game-changer for everything from emergency rescues to construction sites. With an 80kg payload, 9-minute fast charging, and a killer sensor lineup, the FC100 is DJI’s boldest move yet into big-league aerial transport.

This thing can hoist up to 80 kilograms with one battery or 65 with two, pushing drones into territory usually reserved for heavy machinery. Tipping the scales at a 149.9-kilogram max takeoff weight, it’s driven by a coaxial dual-rotor setup with 62-inch carbon fiber props and 420A ESCs for serious thrust. Fully loaded, it covers 6 kilometers on a single battery, stretches to 12 with dual batteries, or cruises an impressive 26 kilometers when flying light. “The FlyCart 100 is set to be a go-to for aerial delivery, tackling tough terrain and last-mile challenges with efficiency, affordability, and safety,” says DJI’s Christina Zhang, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy.

Toughness is the FC100’s middle name. It’s got an IP55 rating, shrugging off dust and light rain, and keeps humming in temperatures from -20°C to 40°C, even in winds up to 12 meters per second. It can soar at altitudes up to 6,000 meters, making it a lifeline for remote mountain villages or flood-stricken disaster zones. Its 4-axis, 8-propeller design locks in stability, and its rugged build laughs off harsh weather.

The FC100’s brain is just as impressive as its brawn. Packed with high-precision LiDAR grabbing 300,000 data points a second, millimeter-wave radar, and five vision modules, it dances through tricky environments like a pro. Smart obstacle avoidance and a built-in parachute system—deploying at 60 meters for a controlled 6 m/s descent—keep things safe when the unexpected hits. Dual-operator mode lets two pilots swap control smoothly for long-distance runs, while DJI’s O3 video system holds a rock-solid 20-kilometer link, with 4G as a backup for spotty areas.

Delivery options make the FC100 a jack-of-all-trades. It handles cargo box mode with a 70-liter EPP container or winch mode with a 20-meter cable for pinpoint drops in tight spots. An anti-sway system keeps cargo steady during winch ops, and the DJI DeliveryHub software makes mission planning a breeze, with real-time tracking and multi-drone control.

Starting at around $12,400 in China, the FC100 offers four package options and two Care Plan insurance tiers, covering up to $14,000 in yearly damages for crashes, drops, or water issues. It even throws in third-party liability coverage up to $180,000, a big win for business users. No word yet on a U.S. launch, but with the FlyCart 30 already FAA-compliant, the FC100 might not be far behind.
