DJI, the heavyweight champ of drones and action cams, is diving headfirst into the 360-degree camera scene with the Osmo 360, ready to take on the Insta360 X5 and GoPro Max 2.

DJI Osmo 360 Camera Leak
At the heart of the Osmo 360 is a rumored 1-inch CMOS sensor, a real powerhouse pumping out a native 120-megapixel resolution with 2.4µm pixels. Compared to the Insta360 X5’s 1.28-inch sensors, this beast promises razor-sharp clarity, especially in dim light where 360 cams usually struggle. Its square sensor keeps things power-efficient without bulking up the camera’s sleek frame. You’re getting 8K video at 30fps for full 360-degree glory, or you can flip to single-lens mode for buttery 4K at 120fps with a 170-degree view—perfect for epic slow-mo shots. Want a wider angle? There’s a 5K/60fps mode with a 155-degree field of view to capture every bit of the action.

A supposed 1,950 mAh battery keeps the Osmo 360 rolling, letting you shoot 8K/30fps for up to 100 minutes—plenty for most adventures. Pair it with DJI’s Battery Extension Bar, and you’re good for a whopping 180 minutes, great for long treks, vlogging marathons, or filming big events. That bar also pulls double duty as a 1/4-inch threaded magnetic mount with wireless charging, making it as practical as it is clever.

DJI’s HorizonSteady 360 stabilization is pure magic, keeping your videos buttery smooth. Gesture and voice controls enable you to start or stop recording with a simple wave. Plus, it syncs with Apple Watch as well as Garmin devices, so you can quickly adjust settings or hit record right from your wrist, while the DJI Mimo app makes editing and sharing a breeze.

The Osmo 360’s “Adventure Combo” includes extra batteries, a compact charging station, and an invisible selfie stick. It’s built for creators who are always on the move. With Wi-Fi 6.0 for speedy data transfers, Micro SDHD support for tons of storage, and a waterproof design that laughs off splashes or rain, this camera’s ready for anything. Leaked pics show a slick dark gray body with big, bold lenses and a small touchscreen, giving off Insta360 X5 vibes but with DJI’s no-nonsense style.

Slated for release on July 29, 2025, alongside the DJI Mic 3, the Osmo 360 is stepping into a ring ruled by the Insta360 X5 and the freshly teased GoPro Max 2. Pricing’s still under wraps, but word on the street is DJI’s aiming to come in just below its rivals, banking on its rep for delivering serious bang for your buck.
