People have been trying to run DOOM on just about everything, including this Christmas ornament. The latter is actually a 3D-printed Christmas bauble modeled after a real IBM PC that has been fitted with a tiny LCD, processor and logic to make it work as well as doubling as a battery. Yes, it can be played if you pair a Bluetooth keyboard or joystick to it.
Another one of our favorite ways to play DOOM has to be on a Polycom VXX600 telephone. Neil Bostian made this possible by attempting to reverse engineering its firmware before poking around and discovering a vulnerability in the VXX600’s admin interface. He then logged into the phone’s web admin interface from a home PC and then added the proper DOOM files to get it running. More information here.
