This playable DOOM II SNES port is actually a ROM hack of the original game by a modder known as Sunlitspace542. It’s a work in progress so only the first two levels have been ported thus far, using assets already available in-game except for the title screen and intermission background.
For those who have never played the sequel to DOOM, it boasts larger levels, new enemies, a Super Shotgun weapon, as well as a new power-up. It has already been officially ported to the Game Boy Advance (2002), Tapwave Zodiac (2004), Xbox Live Arcade (2010), Nintendo Switch (2019), PlayStation 4 (2019) and Xbox One (2019). There’s no word yet on when or if Sunlitspace542 will release the ROM hack to the public.
