'The Legend of DOOM' Lets You Play as Doom Guy with Link's Weapons and Items

‘The Legend of DOOM’ is unlike any other version of the game you’ve played, as it is a total conversion for DOOM that aims to faithfully recreate the original NES world of Hyrule. The latest update features several map improvements, bug fixes, and sprite / texture upgrades. Since this mod runs off the original DOOM engine, Nintendo probably won’t be taking it down anytime soon.

Unfortunately, playing this game may be a bit technical for those used to just inserting a cartridge or loading a file. It requires GZDoom, a DOOM game file (iwad), and then the ‘The Legend of DOOM’ mod. After grabbing all of the required files, just extract GZDoom to a new folder, along with the DOOM iwad, and then select GZDoom after launching ‘The Legend of DOOM’.
