You either hate the new cheese grater Mac Pro or love it, and if it’s the latter, there will soon be an option for PC users. It’s called the Dune Pro, a case that is set to go live on Kickstarter in a little over a week. The case is mainly crafted from aluminum and supports motherboards that are up to EATX in size, full-sized graphics cards and sports 360mm water cooling radiators. Like other PC cases, you can configure it however you like, whether it be for storage or multiple graphics cards. Read more for two hands-onn video and additional information.
There will be two versions available at launch: the first with a drilled hole front, while the other is the premium Mac Pro lookalike with a “Dice Y” cover and patent-pending sound dampening technology. The case also offers dual USB-C I/O ports that support USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 (10Gbps). As for airflow, it boasts a front-to-back configuration, where air is blown through three 120mm fans at the front of the chassis and exits through the rear.
There’s no word yet on pricing or availability, but we’re sure that information will be released as the October 21st Kickstarter campaign nears.
