Some consider FromSoftware’s Elden Ring as one of the tougher games they’ve played, while others are attempting to set speedrun records, including a gamer who goes by Distortion2 online. This speedrunner is already familiar with Dark Souls, so progressing to Elden Ring was not a huge change, and since this is an “Any%” speedrun, Distortion2 did not have to complete all the steps, like getting the runes. This game played in a third-person perspective with gameplay focusing on combat and exploration, all the while borrowing elements from other games developed by FromSoftware, like Souls series, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Players basically start with a linear opening, but eventually, they are free to explore the Lands Between, including its six main areas, as well as castles, fortresses, and catacombs scattered throughout the open world map.
