We have seen the future of pet doors, and it’s this Flappie AI cat door. That’s right, it utilizes artificial intelligence to recognize various objects, such as birds or mice, that cats may bring home as prey. If these objects are detected, the flap remains closed and prevents your pet from bringing the prey into the house.
Flappie will not open as long as the cat wants to enter with prey. However, as soon as the cat tries to enter without prey, it’s automatically let in. Most importantly, Flappie can be used with more than one cat, so you’ll never have to buy additional hardware. It blocks access from foreign cats using a built-in microchip reader. There’s no word yet on US availability, but the company did state they plan on selling the unit for $399 USD or $199 with a 2-year, $8.90 monthly subscription.

The mouse detection algorithm used in Flappie is extremely accurate and reliable. The algorithm is continuously trained and updated with new data to improve its accuracy and ensure that it can detect mice with high accuracy and minimal false alarms,” said Flappie.
