Forget driving around in an RV, Homegrown Trailers has unveiled tiny solar-powered vehicle, clad in FSC-certified timber, that can go anywhere. All the material is renewable and locally sourced, right down to its 800-watt solar array. Measuring 18 feet by 7.4 feet by 6.9 feet, its pop-top roof is covered with a solar array feeding a battery that can last for five days of off-the-grid use. “The cozy wood-lined interior features 94 square meters of floorspace and can comfortably sleep four in a pull-out double bed and a set of bunk beds. The surprisingly spacious kitchen offers plenty of counter space, as well as Energy Star appliances and an induction cooktop. No toxic chemicals or volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are used in any of the materials. The home also includes a composting toilet, as well as energy efficient LEDs,” according to Inhabitat.
