Norway-based Fresco Motors AS unveils the Fresco XL, an all-electric POD vehicle with no internal combustion engine, which not only boasts an electric motor on each axle, but also comes with a 621-mile driving range on a single charge. Having an electric motor on each axle combined with all-wheel-drive (AWD) ensures that this vehicle is off-road capable as well. That’s not all, as the Fresco XL can also double as a backup energy shortage unit as well as a camper.
What makes the its structural battery pack stand out is that it’s integrated directly into the body as a load-bearing part, which benefits energy density since it can be retrieved via a bidirectional charging function. Think of this vehicle as a cross between a sedan and van, the latter due to its ample interior cabin space. Interested parties can pre-order one with a 1,000 € deposit (10,000 kr), but the final production vehicle is estimated to cost up to 100,000 €.

- Sturdy & Powerful: Compact design, 28 lbs, 220 lbs max load. Dual 400W motors, 10 mph max speed, 13.7 miles per charge, 15° slope.
- Road Adaptive Design: 10.5" pneumatic tires for smooth ride. Knee control bar for precise steering, easy lifting. Age: 16-50. Height: 3.11-6.6".
In the case you need some additional energy, hook up your Fresco XL to your house or cabin. Due to its rather large battery pack, it would essentially work as a backup unit, and as the Fresco XL is such an extra-large vehicle, you can quite easily use it for camping and road trips. All you need to do is pull down the seats to create a flat surface, put in your bedding and use it as a camper,” said Adrian Kristofer Locklindh, COO & Member of the Board of Fresco.
