Google’s Project Astra, built on the company’s Gemini 2.0 models, shows how a universal AI assistant could work in the real world. Currently, it’s available on Android phones and prototype glasses, while memory lets users keep talking even if they swap devices.
Project Astra can now converse in multiple languages as well as in mixed languages, with a better understanding of accents and uncommon words. Thanks to Google Gemini 2.0, Project Astra can also use Search, Lens and Maps, making it more useful as a personal assistant in your everyday life. As for memory, It it can record up to 10 minutes of in-session memory and remember more conversations than the previous model.
