James Hobson, also known as “Hacksmith”, has built a real-life electromagnetic Captain America shield. While not made from vibranium, this aluminum version consists of a bracer system with two industrial strength electromagnets, powered by three lithium-polymer battery packs, which weigh in at 30-pounds total. Sure, this can’t be used to fight supervillains, but as you’ll see in the video, he can still catch the shield after it bounces of walls.
