Halo Infinite Sounds How Made
Insider recently went behind the scenes to learn how Halo Infinite sounds were made, whether it be the weapon effects or its futuristic environment. Put simply, all off the sounds required creative Foley – performing everyday sounds in a recording studio – and field recording techniques to capture as well as distort real-world sounds so that could be used out of context in the game.

It all starts with Kyle Fraser, Halo Infinite’s lead sound designer, along with senior sound designers Robbie Elias and Jomo Kangethe. The team breaks down the techniques they used in destinations around the world, including Tasmania, an airport runway, and even vintage farm machinery from a heritage site. Unfortunately, this Honda Ridgeline EV pickup truck was not used.
