The new HondaJet Elite II made its public debut at the 2023 European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, Switzerland after successfully completing a transatlantic flight. It’s touted as being the the fastest, farthest and highest-flying plane in its class, with a range of up to 1,547 nautical miles.
Featuring a unique Over-The-Wing Engine Mount (OTWEM) configuration, Natural Laminar Flow (NLF) nose / wing, and a composite fuselage. The aircraft is powered by GE Honda Aero Engines HF120, enabling it to hit a maximum speed of 486 mph and takeoff on runways as short as 3,699 feet. There are two configurations for the cabin: standard (1 crew + 6 passengers) and extended (1 crew + 7 passengers). It has received type certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), but pricing has not yet been revealed. As for us, we wouldn’t mind a transatlantic flight in Lufthansa Technik’s new VIP cabin.
