Unlike earlier models, the Insta360 X5 has bigger sensors, lenses you can swap out, and great low-light skills, making it the most flexible and tough 360 camera so far. If you love filming action or making VR videos, the X5’s mix of new features and practicality is tough to top.
It comes with two Type 1/1.28-inch sensors, a huge jump from the 1/2-inch sensors in the X4, grabbing 133–144% more light for clearer, more detailed videos. What makes the X5 special is its user-replaceable lens system made of super-strong glass, letting you replace them fast if they get damaged. Why’s that handy? 360-degree cameras often get scratched lenses because of their bulging fisheye shape.
- 8K30fps 360° Video with Dual 1/1.28" Sensors: Capture stunning detail with dual 1/1.28" sensors shooting up to 8K30fps. Film epic adventures,...
- Triple AI Chip Design, Better Low Light: Shoot confidently even in challenging lighting. X5’s triple AI chip design powers advanced noise reduction...
- Invisible Selfie Stick: Create impossible third-person views with no selfie stick in sight! Capture everything in 360°, then choose your angles later...
The X5 also brings PureVideo mode (taken from the Ace Pro), using smart AI to cut noise and boost color range for brighter, cleaner low-light videos. It’s limited to 30fps but works with all resolutions. Plus, the X5’s bigger sensors and Triple AI Chip System (one 5nm chipset and two imaging chips) give 140% more brainpower, making videos less grainy and colors more true.

For battery life, the X5 has a 2,400mAh battery (compared to 2,290mAh in the X4), lasting up to 185 minutes of 5.7K recording in Endurance Mode and charging 50% faster. On top of that, the X5 has InstaFrame mode, saving two videos: a flat one you can share right away (no editing needed) and a full 360 video for post production, with a one-tap Dewarp button to fix fisheye distortion as well as over 40 AI templates for quick editing.

Compared to the X4, the X5 maintains 8K30fps but improves quality via sensor size and processing power. The X4’s 5.7K60fps and 4K100fps are upgraded to 120fps at 4K, offering smoother slow-mo. We can’t forget about the Me Mode either, which is designed for vlogging with the Invisible Selfie Stick effect, keeping the user centered in a wide-angle frame. Available now, priced from $549.99 USD.
X5 redefines 360° cameras by solving creators’ real challenges. From replaceable lenses to AI-powered low-light shooting, we’ve built our dream camera—rugged enough for adventure, capable enough to produce high-quality footage, and intelligent enough to capture epic moments effortlessly,” said JK Liu, Insta360’s Founder.
