Richard Browning Iron Man

Inventor and entrepreneur Richard Browning of technology startup “Gravity,” has created a functional Iron Man-like suit that actually flies. It’s powered by four arm-mounted gas turbine engines, two hip-mounted gas turbine engines, and a wearable exoskeleton that enables the pilot to vertically take off and land, while using the body to maneuver. Gravity claims the production suit, called “Daedalus,” will be capable of flying at several hundred miles per hour at thousands of feet. “I have aeronautics in my blood. My grandfather instructed on WW2 Hurricanes, and the other was Chairman of Westland Helicopters. My father was an aeronautical engineer and an innovator, too. We’ve already had a few comparisons to Tony Stark, but this is real-world aeronautical innovation. We stand at the very beginning of what human propulsion systems will do. It’s at the same point as the mobile phone was in the early to mid-80’s or the internet of the early 90s – and I have to say, it’s phenomenally exciting,” said Browning.
