Jeep Wrangler Trailcat

If you’ve always wanted to go off-road in a Hellcat-powered vehicle, the Trailcat is here. It’s powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 engine, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The team also had to add 12″ to the wheelbase of the Wrangler and chop 2″ off the windshield in order to create this custom vehicle. Continue reading for another video and more information.

“Steering felt heavy but loose, clutch was lighter than I expected, the gearbox was pretty compliant. The biggest challenge to keeping this thing in line is the suspension; so soft and bouncy that your feet were liable to slip on the pedals and burp too much power into the drivetrain. Those tall shocks might be a little better on some high-speed desert passes, but since the car ran out of fuel twice in a few miles at 0 to 5% throttle, I wouldn�t want to take this thing too deep into the dunes,” according to Jalopnik.
