Jetman Vince Reffet took off in Dubai yesterday heading south towards the Jumeirah Beach Residence equipped with a carbon fiber wing powered by four mini jet engines. In just seconds, the stuntman reached more than 325 feet and in half a minute achieved a height of 3,280 feet at an average speed of 130 knots. By the end of the three-minute flight, he reached a maximum altitude of 5,000 feet before opening a parachute to land safely back at Skydive Dubai.
This marks the first time that a Jetman Dubai pilot combined hovering safely at a limited altitude and flying aerobatics at high altitude in the same flight. Controlled from the ground by the human body, this jet-powered wing enables Jetman Dubai to reach speeds of up to 400kmh, as well as hover, change direction and even perform loops.
