Designer Julian Lechner saw other people using coffee grounds to create composite materials. So, he decided to combine his love of coffee with practical design, and thus Kaffeeform was born. These espresso cups and saucers are made entirely from old coffee grounds called, and he spent over five years developing the process.
It all starts by mixing the grounds with sustainably sourced wood and natural glues to create stunninng accessories for the perfect cup of coffee. Now if only there was a way to turn these coffee grounds into other utensils, as we imagine the amount of grounds a single coffee shop produces may be enough to be used for plates, forks, knives, etc.
- BREW FOR ONE OR MANY: Perfect for holiday hosting or cozy mornings, brew a single cup or a full 12-cup carafe to serve family and friends with ease.
- MULTISTREAM TECHNOLOGY FOR FULL FLAVOR: Extracts rich taste and aroma in every brew, ideal for festive gatherings and seasonal sipping.
- SEASONAL VERSATILITY WITH BREW OVER ICE & STRONG BREW: Enjoy refreshing iced coffee or bold, energizing cups to power through holiday hustle.

Lechner creates the coffee cups by first collecting the leftovers from local cafes in Berlin. He then combines them with natural glues and particles of wood from sustainable sources to produce a liquid that can be injection molded to create the reusable cups,” reports Design Boom.
