Designer Julian Lechner saw other people using coffee grounds to create composite materials. So, he decided to combine his love of coffee with practical design, and thus Kaffeeform was born. “Lechner creates the coffee cups by first collecting the leftovers from local cafes in Berlin. He then combines them with natural glues and particles of wood from sustainable sources to produce a liquid that can be injection molded to create the reusable cups,” reports Design Boom.
