If you don’t need to transport an entire city on the Pangeos terayacht, there’s Lazzarini Design’s ‘PLECTRUM’ superyacht, which may be the first to have massive hydrofoil wings that let it glide above water. Measuring 242-feet long, the vessel can hit speeds of up to 75 knots (86.3 mph) in pure luxury.
Power comes from three motors that generate a combined 15,000 hp, plenty for a super light yacht made entirely from dry carbon fiber composite materials. The vessel is divided into four levels with the main body consisting of 6 cabins as well as an owner’s suite. Luxurious amenities include a a supercar garage, a main garage for two tenders, helicopter hangar, and a large deck, complete with a pool. One caveat: it will cost you at least $80-million, as each one is built to order.

We like to remember that in 1964, shipbuilding was already capable of similar vessel construction. This different superyacht configuration will allow much faster travel than conventional ships of a similar size,” said Lazzarini Design.
