This LEGO Ideas Donkey Kong set was designed by a Reddit user and currently has 4,822 votes of the 10,000 required for it to move onto the next phase. It consists of 800-pieces and one Pauline minifigure, as Mario was in the original design, but LEGO requested the character be removed due to overlapping intellectual property issues with Nintendo’s other sets.
If this LEGO Ideas set were to be further enhanced, we could see Mario running, jumping on platforms, climbing ladders to rescue Pauline from Donkey Kong. We can’t forget that hammer power-up that gives Mario the ability to smash the barrels that are being rolled at him.
