LEGO Ideas Megazord Set Power Rangers
LEGO has finally given the green light to a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Megazord for its Ideas line, plucking the design straight from a fan’s painstakingly detailed blueprint – a blueprint submitted by TrumanBricks which, it’s worth noting, racked up a total of 10,000 supporters to push it through the review process. This round saw an all-time high for LEGO, with a whopping six sets getting approved out of a record 57 entries. The Megazord topped the list, and its inclusion joins licensed builds for E.T., The Smurfs, and Downton Abbey, along with two original creations: a Day of the Dead Catrina figure and a really cool ramen bowl display.

Fans were really rooting for this exact design – and it’s easy to see why. The Megazord stands a pretty impressive 14 inches tall when it’s all put together, and it’s built from no less than 1,225 pieces. It splits into five separate Dinozords – a Tyrannosaurus for the torso, a Mastodon for the arms and shield, a Triceratops for the thighs, a Sabertooth Tiger for the right leg, and a Pterodactyl for the head and left arm. And the best part? Every single Zord has posable limbs that snap together firmly so that you can get all sorts of cool poses out of it. Once the Zords are combined, the full robot can actually move at the head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles.

The details on this Megazord are spot on, pulling directly from the original TV show. The head has a sharp crest, glowing eyes, and a defined nose – just like you’d remember from back in the day. The body proportions have been tweaked to get them just right, with a slimmer waist and stronger thighs that really lend themselves to smooth poses. It even comes with a massive Power Sword in one hand and the Mastodon’s tank-like shield in the other. Plus, designers really went the extra mile in refining the Pterodactyl’s wings, Mastodon’s snout, the T-Rex claws, and the leg joints to get them just right, grainy episode by grainy episode.

To top it all off, five minifigures round out the team – Jason leading the charge as the Red Ranger, with Zack in black, Billy in blue, Trini in yellow and Kimberly in pink. The current design uses custom head prints on standard bodies – but you can bet that Lego will likely swap in official helmets during production, just like they did with the NASA Apollo modules. These figures are pretty cool, and they not only slot into the Zords but can also stand guard beside the finished Megazord.

As you’d expect, the ability to transform the Zords into the full Megazord is one of the coolest features. You can separate the Zords in seconds, then snap them back together without any hassle or frustration. The Mastodon even doubles as a shoulder cannon that detaches cleanly, and the Pterodactyl’s wings fold up for a snug head fit. And trust me, engineers at LEGO will be putting these joints through their paces for months on end to make sure that the final version can withstand all the rough handling that these sets inevitably get.

This approval marks the end of a long wait for Power Rangers fans who’ve been clamoring for a brick version of the Megazord for a long time. Lego actually passed on a few earlier Megazord pitches, but it looks like fan persistence paid off in the end. And it now joins a pretty long queue of approved Ideas sets, including Wallace & Gromit, the X-Files, and Godzilla. Based on recent trends, we can expect to see this set hit the shelves in late 2026 or 2027, assuming it takes the usual 18-24 months from approval to release. And with a piece count in the thousands, this set is likely to come with a price tag in the neighbourhood of $100 to $130 – which puts it right in line with other big sets like the 1,106-piece Apollo Saturn V or the 1,323-piece Rivendell.
