We know the Lucid Air Sapphire fast, but is it quick enough to take down the monstrous Dodge Demon 170 in a drag race? DragTimes wanted to find out, so both vehicles were pit against each other at Bradenton Motorsports Park’s drag strip in Florida.
At 5,336 pounds, the Lucid Air Sapphire is powered by three electric motors generating a combined 1,234 hp and 1,430 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to hit 60 mph in a mere 1.9 seconds. The 4,275 pound Dodge Demon 170 is definitely no slouch either, as it sports a 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine with a 3.0-liter IHI supercharger that produces 1,025 hp and 945 lb-ft of torque when running on E85 ethanol, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, helping boost it to 60 mph in a blistering 1.66 seconds.
