Luke Maximo Bell has officially built the world’s fastest drone. That’s right, he set a new Guinness World Record for fastest ground speed by a battery-powered remote-controlled (RC) quadcopter by hitting a top speed of 298.47 mph.
Photographer Luke, along with his father Mike, have been flying drones for years and the pair attempted the record by doing speed runs in opposite directions to negate the wind, going full throttle to reach the maximum propeller RPM. The drone body had to go through several iterations, with the final one that you see in the video above being fully 3D printed and bolted together.

It’s so exciting. It’s been such a long work in progress that to get that results and to get that confirmation just means a lot to me and my Dad,” said Bell.
