Macho Nacho PlayStation 2 Mods PS2 Pro
Tito Perez of Macho Nacho Productions decided to install the most advanced PlayStation 2 mods on the console to turn it into a makeshift PS2 Pro. These mods include the Retro Gem Shiny Edition universal HDMI upscaler kit with custom ribbon cables and iFlash2PS2 to use SD cards as HDD devices.

Installing these components does require you to disassemble the entire console, right down to the motherboard, and some soldering skills are required. What you end up with is a PS2 that can output up to 1440p resolution and the ability to use microSD cards that are larger than 128GB. These mods were performed on a PlayStation 2 Slim (Model No. SCPH-700001), so before purchasing any of these mods, make sure to check it’s compatible with your console.

Impressive work! But for anyone watching – the PS2 can easily be modded with absolutely no internal mods (but you’d need an external scaler like a retrotink). MC2ISO, Memcard Pro 2, 8bitdo bluetooth receiver and you’ve got 90% of the functionality on display here with 0 of the soldering work. PS2 is a great console to bring into the modern world!,” said one commenter.
