Nintendo has brought back the 1992 Super Nintendo classic Mario Paint for Switch Online and it’s a nostalgic yet fresh creative experience. This sandbox, famous for its mouse driven art, music and animation tools, lets players of all ages unleash their imagination.



Originally bundled with the Super NES Mouse, Mario Paint’s control scheme is perfect for the Switch. Original Switch players will need a compatible USB mouse, while Switch 2 players can use the Joy-Con 2 as a mouse and get the authentic click and drag experience. Mario Paint is a creative playground with tools to draw vibrant artwork with different brushes, colours and patterns or colour pre-made images for a guided approach. The stamp designer lets you create custom sprites and the music composer lets you recreate pop or classical tunes. The animation suite lets you create short, looping scenes and all the tools blend together to let you combine drawings, music and animations into one creation, endless experimentation.

Nintendo has also added the Mario Paint soundtrack to its Nintendo Music app, free for Switch Online members.
