Marvel World of Heroes AR Mobile Game Niantic
We’ve seen Thor: Ragnarok with lightsabers, now check out Marvel World of Heroes, an AR game by Pokemon GO developer Niantic. Revealed at the D23 Expo today in Anaheim, this augmented reality experience lets players become their own unique Marvel superhero and extend gameplay into the real world.

How will the AR game work? Players will assume the abilities of either Thor, Doctor Strange or Cyclops. Once a character is selected, players need to create their own identity as well as origin story. Next, they need to protect their neighborhoods by foiling crime, completing superhero missions and thwarting imminent interdimensional threats. You’ll be able to level up, unlock equipment, gain abilities and team up with other Marvel superheroes such as Spider-Man. It’s set to be released in 2023, but players can pre-register now at marvelworldofheroes[.]com.

The best part about being a producer on MARVEL World of Heroes is I get to experience first-hand all of the awesome work by the team through the lens of both a player and game developer. Some days my world revolves around team operations, and other days it’s partnering with our creative and technology leads on upcoming features,” said Lyza Faylona, Senior Producer.
