
Mercedes-Benz engineer Jurgen Eberle started the Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain 4×4² as a side project, but now it’s become a reality. Based on the standard All-Terrain, it also swaps in parts from other models, including the portal axles of the G500 4×4² as well as a 3.5L turbocharged V6 engine producing 328 hp from the E400 wagon. “It’s also 1.5 inches taller and nearly eight inches wider, a stance accommodated by new carbon fiber fender flares, all of which gives it clearance of over 16 inches, approach and departure angles of 35.8 and 35.6 degrees, respectively, and the ability to tackle almost 20 inches of water,” reports Uncrate.
