Microsoft’s sustainability initiative resulted in the Ocean Plastic Mouse, which features a shell of manufactured with 20% recycled materials recovered from oceans and waterways. This waste is cleaned, and then processed into recyclable plastic resin pellets, which are then blended in during the materials development process to makes the shell. That’s not all, the small box it comes in is plastic free and made from 100% recyclable wood as well as sugarcane natural fibers.
Pairing the Microsoft Ocean Plastic Mouse is quick and easy with Bluetooth 5.0 LE connectivity. It’s been designed with efficiency in mind, so rather than have a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, it uses a single AA battery, which is good for up to 12-months of continuous use. The company also announced today that users can recycle their old Microsoft mouse in a responsible manner through a free mail-in program.
