MIT researchers have developed a tiny surveillance plane that’s capable of landing on power lines to recharge itself. It features “a system that allows the craft to keep an eye on itself and the position of the wire using external cameras, sending control data if adjustments have to be made.” Video after the break.

When they approach the wire, they point their nose up at the right trajectory to slow them down and let them hook right onto the wire.
