MIT Momo Self-Assembling Lunar Habitat Artemis
MIT researchers have unveiled Momo, a self-assembling lunar habitat for Artemis III astronauts. This will hopefully become a semi-permanent in situ habitat for space exploration ahead of establishing a permanent lunar base.

If successfully deployed at the Moon’s South Pole, Momo will ensure survival in lunar conditions and aid astronauts in construction of longer term settlement. Some of the essential facilities include a bathroom, bed and recreation space. The module itself boasts an aluminum frame that has been combined with a high-density polyethylene membrane, resulting in a structure capable of shielding astronauts from the harsh radiation, while maintaining lightweight design important for space travel.
