NASA Hubble Spitzer Penguin Galaxy
NASA’s Hubble and Spitzer space telescopes captured a penguin-shaped galaxy 23 million light-years from Earth. If you look closer, you’ll see that the penguin part is actually a spiral galaxy twisted and pulled by the pull of its egg-shaped neighbor.

As for the “egg,” its smooth, featureless appearance is due to the distribution of old stars, which hides any shaping caused by its neighbor.⁣ We can see the “penguin” galaxy standing over its galactic neighbor, while twisted filaments of blue and red outline its shape in the speckled, white glow of the galaxy’s body.

Over time, gravity will bring these two galaxies closer together until they merge into one. This type of merging likely occurred in the history of most large galaxies we see today, including the Milky Way,” said NASA.
