NASA Perseverance Mars Rover Pet Rock Dwayne
NASA’s Perseverance Mars rover picked up a new pet rock that the team named ‘Dwayne’, possibly after the famous WWE wrestler / actor. It’s currently traveling across the Jezero Crater, which is an ancient lake bed that once had flowing rivers.

Perseverance is currently traversing a region near a deep channel called the Neretva Vallis. This channel, along with Sava Vallis, were basically inflow channels that created two deltas on the western as well as northwestern rim of the crater. Perseverance is examining the larger of the two in the west using its instruments.
