New RMS Titanic Expedition Artifacts
A new RMS Titanic Imaging and Research Expedition uncovered the elusive bronze statue of Diana of Versailles, which was last seen in 1986, an artifact that most historians were afraid was lost forever. The team also found that a significant section of the railing surrounding the Bow’s forecastle deck have fallen from the port side prow where it stood as recently as 2022.

The RMS Titanic, Inc. team spent approximately 20 days at the wreckage site and captured more than 2 million high-resolution images as well as video, all the while fully mapping the debris field utilizing LiDAR, sonar, and a hyper magnetometer. Currently, they are still processing the data so findings can be shared with the Titanic and scientific communities. Ultimately, they hope to identify more historically significant and at-risk artifacts for safe recovery in future expeditions.
