Hualien Starbucks Shipping Containers
Designed by famed Japan-based architectural firm Kengo Kuma and Associates, this stunning new Starbucks in Hualien, Taiwan appears to be from Minecraft. The entire structure is made from 29 heavily reinforced shipping containers stacked to form two floors, and then given a cool white paint job on the exterior to maintain a minimalist look.

However, this isn’t a first for the company, as they’ve already opened 45 pre-fabricated modular stores in the US, built off-site prior to delivery and installation. From one end of the container, customers can enjoy views of the beautiful mountain range. on the other end graphic wall prints tell coffee stories whilst a brightly colored wall mural represents the aboriginal Amis peoples who have deep heritage within the city.
