If the Nintendo DS could run Windows Vista, it most certainly would not look or function like this. With that said, what you’re about to see isn’t an operating system at all, but rather an adaptation of the software developed by a French programmer.



This homebrew from 2011 includes the Windows XP startup sound and then attempts to replicate the desktop. Unfortunately, there are several glitches, such as a line that appears on the screen when tapping any of the functions in the Start menu. One thing that does work is an app that lets you test all of the buttons on your DS work. On the bright side, the text editor does work should you get the sudden urge to type something.
