Some may remember the legendary Nintendo GameCube Advance concept from 2005, and while many do not, one modder decided to make this handheld game console a reality. GingerOfOz took on the project and never looked back, creating something that looks almost exactly like the render. To start, he had to 3D-print the case after finalizing the design in Blend / 3D Studio Max software before figuring out how to cram an actual Wii motherboard in there.
Despite it being named the Nintendo GameCube Advance, the case itself more resembles the Game Boy Advance SP’s clamshell design. Unfortunately, this meant that the Wii motherboard had to be trimmed to fit properly. It does however play all GameCube games on its 480p display, although the 4,000mAh (2 x 2,000mAh batteries) battery capacity is only good for around 1-hour or less of play time.
