Back in 1998, Nintendo acquired 10 Volkswagen Beetles from a dealer in Washington State. They were then transformed into the legendary ‘Pikabug’ by Pro Body Works, which repainted them Thundershock Yellow”, complete with stripes, eyes, and cheeks, just like its real-life Pokemon counterpart.
Each one of these ten vehicles had unique stripes to differentiate them from each other, with this particular example having them painted on the roof down into the door / side panels. Mouth, feet and logo decals were also added, along with painted wood tails / ears. Apparently, another ten vehicles were made by FAO Schwarz later on for promotional purposes. However, this first-generation model with 170,00 miles on the odometer could be yours for a cool $125,000 USD. Interested? It’s located in Madison, Wisconsin, and you can check it out here.
