NIO’s ONVO L80 electric SUV has completed its trial production, and should be officially unveiled next month. Prototypes of this six or seven-seater vehicle have been spotted on public roads and would be a direct Li Auto L9 competitor.
The main difference being that the Li Auto L9 is a six-seat, plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) SUV, while the ONVO L80 would be purely electric. Power wise, the former is powered by a turbocharged 1.5L engine, paired with two electric motors, that generate a combined 449 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 5.3 seconds. We expect at least one variant of the ONVO L80 to match these specs, with a performance model possibly exceeding them.
