Touted as “the most reliable phone ever made,” the Nokia 3310 – discontinued in 2005 – will be relaunched by HMD Oy Global, a Finnish manufacturer with the exclusive rights to market the Nokia brand. This revamped device will initially be available only to European and North American consumers, priced at $62. The original phone sold extremely well, being one of the most successful phones with 126 million units sold worldwide. It was popular for SMS text messaging because it allowed long messages three times the size of a standard SMS text message, at 459 characters.
