After numerous leaks, the OnePlus Open was officially unveiled today, and it’s the company’s first foldable smartphone. Featuring a 7.82″ (2440 x 2268) Flexi-fluid LTPO 3.0 AMOLED display with a 1-120Hz dynamic refresh rate, a 6.31″ Super Fluid LTPO 3.0 AMOLED cover screen, Qualcomm SM8550-AC Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, a triple rear camera (48MP Wide + 64MP Telephoto + 48MP Ultra-Wide), 20MP selfie camera, and a 4,805mAh battery.
The foldable smartphone runs on OxygenOS 13.2 with Open Canvas, the latter of which was built from the ground up to maximize everyday productivity. This means easy multi-window operations, active windows can be stretched and resized as desired, while secondary windows can be slid in or out of the physical display on demand. Open Canvas also boasts a desktop-like taskbar near the bottom of the expanded main display, providing easy access to recent and preset applications. Available in Emerald Dusk or Voyager Black starting October 26, priced at $1,699.99 USD.
